Early pick up from your hotel in Istanbul and transfer to the airport by private car and driver. Take a direct flight from Istanbul to Trabzon that is about 1 hour. Upon arrival, meet with your guide and driver. First stop is the magnificent Sumela Monastery, perched on high cliffs and accessible by staircases cut into the rock formations. It was created to serve monks and nuns following the teachings of the Greek Orthodox Church without any disturbance. Then visit Altindere National Park and driven up to Zigana Mountain to enjoy the spectacular views of villages on the Pontiac Mountains. Finally visit Karaca Cave before being driven to Trabzon to stay overnight.
After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Get ready to explore the highlights of the city including a visit to the 13th century Church of Hagia Sophia and Ataturk's Mansion, Trabzon Castle and Sera Lake. Enjoy lunch at a seaside restaurant serving famous Akcaabat meatballs. In the afternoon, we will drive a short distance to Uzungol that is a hidden paradise in the Pontic Alps. Hike around the lake and village surrounded by lush green forests. Tonight you will enjoy your stay in a bungalow type wooden hotel where you will be served local dish for dinner. After a short drive, you will reach Rize and visit the Botany Garden to see kiwi and tea plantations, then you will be driven to Ayder Plateau via the Firtina Valley. Also take a short visit to Camlihemsin and Goksu Fall before enjoy a romantic sunset over the valley. (Breakfast, Dinner).
Free time is given to enjoy breath-taking views, taste local food, and meet traditionally dressed villagers. In the evening, take a direct flight to Istanbul. The flight duration is around 1 hour. Arrive in Istanbul airport and the end of the itinerary. Alternatively, book accommodation and city tours to explore former Constantinople. (Breakfast).
